I still haven’t gotten around to buying a laptop computer to have for convenience. I go and look at the prices, then decide if I really want to spend the money. Most of the time I notice that so many of the laptops are chocked full of things I have no idea how to use. Since I don’t like the mouse that’s in the middle of the keyboard, it would be necessary to have a hand held one for my relief.
One Sunday morning, everyone in one bright, beautiful, tiny town got up early and went to the local church. Before the services started, the townspeople were sitting in their pews and talking about their lives, their families, etc. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate. Soon everyone was evacuated from the church, except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew, not moving… seemingly oblivious to the fact that God’s ultimate enemy was in his presence. Now this confused Satan a bit, so he walked up to the man and said, “Don’t you know who I am?” The man replied, “Yep, sure do.” Satan asked, “Aren’t you afraid of me?” “Nope, sure ain’t,” said the man. Satan was a little perturbed at this and queried, “Why aren’t you afraid of me?” The man calmly replied, “Been married to your sister for over 48 years.”
Every year right around Easter time, the weather snaps and gives us cold temps. I can tell you that this is the way it always happens. This year the weather, didn’t catch us right on the Easter weekend, but came the next week. I had a beautiful day on Easter, and that made everyone be in great spirits.
Have you been watching the Olympics and keeping up with them? I have to admit, that I only catch a few of the highlights, on the local news channels. I like to watch the couple skating, and figure skating. Occasionally, I will watch some of the other events.
We just got through the switch over to high definition and now they want to pull this on us poor people…..
A move that could spell the end of free TV as Americans have known it since the 1940’s. TV stations have broadcast news, sports and entertainment for free and made their money by showing commercials. That might not work much longer. The recession has squeezed advertising further, forcing broadcasters to accelerate their push for new revenue to pay for programming.
