My Yellow Rose……

Filed under: Plants, Flowers, Roses — Administrator @ 2:57 pm

003.JPG  I have many plants in my yard and a few days after the hurricane Ike, came through this beautiful rose, was blooming and so were many other flowers in my yard………wouldn’t it be nice if things this pretty would stay around and be this beautiful longer?  0041.JPG  I can always count on these two to bloom for me, even when the others don’t.

The Clouds Tease Me..

Filed under: Plants, Flowers, Gardening, Vegetables, Trees, Roses, Other — Administrator @ 4:24 pm

003.JPG The sky is teasing me… :( If I think it’s going to rain, I’ve got another think coming.. :( It does this every few days. The surrounding areas here where I live, get the much needed rain, in fact they get too much. I must not be living right, it will rain, everywhere else, and bypass my dry dying lawn.

My poor vegetable garden has burn up and I didn’t get very many nice veggies, because of the drought in our area. The heat has almost killed everything, and I only water when I have to.

The breeze is getting cooler, so someone is getting rain……..just not me! :( :(

I Love Roses………..

Filed under: Plants, Flowers, Gardening, Mulch, Roses — Administrator @ 2:27 pm

004.JPG I love roses…….I was told many years ago, that if you want roses, you’d better grow them yourself. Because if you wait on a man to give you roses, you’ll be waiting a long time…..unless your one of the lucky few women in this world. 006.JPG

So, you can see I grew my own………

They have weathered the storms we have been having lately.005.JPG I keep pinching the dead hips off, so they will make new blooms….. ………………..003.JPG I’m glad I fertilized the other day, it rained the next and watered it right in.

070.JPG I now have beautiful roses blooming in my yard. This is the same bush in full bloom now. 0042.JPG

They say if you can’t get someone to buy you roses, then grow your own, and so I did. 069.JPG this is the first few blooms and now it’s in full array. 003.JPG The next rose is my yellow rose and the bud was taken before it opened, 074.JPG one week ago this lovely rose, was the bud above
0051.JPG This is the bud that started out the next picture 073.JPG here’s the beautiful rose that opened from the bud. 0021.JPG

This bush has many buds yet unopened but it will be full once they do.0011.JPG  This is just my front yard, the backyard has a vegetable garden in it.  I’ve put pictures of it here, in previous posts.

Rose Bushes

Filed under: Plants, Flowers, Gardening, Roses — Administrator @ 3:55 pm

Back in January I pruned the rose bushes back so they become a thicker bush and produce larger roses.  I notice this weather has brought out new shoots of growth in the last week. 0061.JPG It won’t be long until I will need to fertilize and let the rain do it’s job.  0052.JPG
